“The Speech Therapy program at MCH is so important for helping patients struggling with any kind of speech challenge. For example, we ensure that patients with autism receive tailored interventions designed to enhance development and the ability to participate fully in community life. We help children with dyslexia manage their condition so they can overcome learning challenges. And for those who cannot speak at all, we guide them to express themselves and connect with people in other, meaningful ways.
Speech therapy is also used to help people who have suffered from a stroke or brain injury, who have swallowing problems that impede their speech capabilities, and much more.
