“The MCH Swing Bed Program offers services that include physical therapy, occupational therapy, IV medication therapy, wound care, vital sign monitoring, and speech therapy. As one of Macon Community Hospital’s therapists, I have had the privilege of assisting our swing bed patients toward recovery. It is our goal to help patients return home safely and with the knowledge and equipment to shorten their overall recovery time. We also assist with a smooth transition home including arranging in-home care, coordinating community services, and providing guidance/training on medical equipment. This program is a great benefit to our community and allows for recovery close to home!”

– Clifton Hackett, OTR/L, PTA

“Swing Bed gives our patients more time to recover so they will have better success to live a normal life when they get home.”

– Lea Cornwell, Swing Bed Coordinator
