About Vascular Screenings

Vascular screenings are non-invasive tests that evaluate the health of your blood vessels and check for conditions such as peripheral artery disease (PAD), carotid artery disease, or abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA). These conditions often develop silently but can lead to serious events like stroke or aneurysm rupture if left undetected.

Using ultrasound technology, vascular screenings help identify narrowing, blockages, or weakened vessel walls, giving you and your provider a clearer picture of your vascular health.

Who Should Be Screened

Vascular screenings are recommended for individuals over age 60, or younger adults with risk factors such as high blood pressure, smoking history, diabetes, high cholesterol, or a family history of vascular disease or stroke.

You may also benefit from screening if you experience symptoms such as leg pain when walking, cold or numb feet, dizziness, or mini-strokes (TIAs). However, many vascular conditions don’t show symptoms until they become serious, making early detection critical.

Regular vascular screenings can help catch issues early and support timely treatment or lifestyle changes—protecting your heart, brain, and overall circulation for the long term.
