February Screening Special!

TAKE YOUR HEALTH TO HEART! Knowing more about LDL, HDL, triglycerides and your overall cholesterol is the kind of information that just might save a life, because it allows our cardiac specialists to take better care of our patients.

IF YOU HAVE RISK FACTORS for heart disease such as smoking, diabetes, hypertension, being overweight, lack of exercise, or a family history of cholesterol issues, then we encourage you to ask about lipid panel testing. A lipid panel is a simple blood test to check your cholesterol levels, which should be closely monitored to aid in the prevention of clogged arteries.

DURING THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY, simply walk in Monday – Friday, 7am-5pm, and ask us for a FREE Lipid Panel test! No appointment is necessary. Just be sure to fast for at least 6 hours prior to coming in for the test.

About Lipid Panel Screenings

A lipid panel is a blood test that measures fats and fatty substances used as a source of energy by your body. These include cholesterol and triglycerides. The results provide important insights into your risk for cardiovascular disease, including heart attack and stroke.

A standard lipid panel measures total cholesterol, LDL (bad cholesterol), HDL (good cholesterol), and triglycerides. By identifying elevated levels or unhealthy ratios, the test helps guide recommendations for lifestyle changes, medications, or further testing.

Who Should Be Screened

Lipid panel screenings are recommended for adults as part of routine preventive care—especially if you have risk factors such as family history of heart disease, smoking, high blood pressure, diabetes, or being overweight.

You may also need a lipid panel if you have symptoms of high cholesterol or triglyceride levels. Though often silent, these can sometimes show up as chest pain, leg pain when walking, or signs of atherosclerosis (narrowed arteries).

The test is also commonly used to monitor the effectiveness of treatment plans, such as statin therapy or lifestyle changes aimed at improving heart health.

Regular screenings can help catch concerns early—before symptoms appear—and empower you to make heart-healthy choices.
