“Our local hospital always takes care of me!”

— Taylor Green

At first, Taylor Green (center) thought it was a stomach virus. But after throwing up for several hours and then passing blood, Taylor and her family knew they needed to go to Macon Community Hospital for emergency care.

Dr. Olufemi Odunusi, a board-certified internal medicine physician with Macon Community Hospital, made the diagnosis: a serious case of food poisoning. Taylor had to stay three nights in the hospital and was impressed with her care team, which included Kayla West (left) and Catherine Bates (right). “Everyone really took good care of me,” says Taylor, who is a senior at Macon County High School and plans to attend Tennessee Tech.

This was not the first time the Bray family has trusted Macon Community Hospital for Taylor’s emergency care. ”I’ve gone there for a broken collarbone and when I dislocated my pinky finger during basketball practice,” says Taylor, a starter for the high school’s soccer team.

According to Taylor’s mother, Devon, the follow-up care provided by Macon Community Hospital was also extraordinary. “A nurse would call Taylor every week for three weeks after she was discharged,” says Devon, who was also a recent patient at the hospital when she needed her gallbladder removed. “And they did the same for me. That really shows me how much they care about their patients at Macon Community Hospital!”
