“Macon Community Is My Go-To Hospital!”

— Billy Snyder

Billy Snyder believes in the five P’s: Proper Planning Prevents Poor Performance.

“I planned my first colonoscopy at age 50 because I believe in always being prepared and taking care of myself,” says Billy, who owns an insurance office in Lafayette. “And when I turned 60, Macon Community Hospital made it so easy to plan my second colonoscopy. I called the hospital, made an appointment, and the staff explained exactly what I needed to prepare.”

Dr. Hannah Ilia, a family medicine physician with Macon Community Hospital, performed the procedure. “Dr. Ilia is also my primary care physician,” Billy says.” The staff welcomed me in and made me feel comfortable during the entire experience.”

Billy has also had physical therapy at Macon Community Hospital for his left shoulder. “I injured it 30 years ago in a rodeo, and it kept getting worse and worse after I had a skateboarding accident. The staff was great, and their communication was top notch. Before I started physical therapy, putting my arm through a shirt or picking up a gallon of milk was very difficult. Now my mobility and strength are almost back to normal, and I didn’t have to drive to Nashville to find expert care. I think everybody should make Macon Community their go-to hospital!”
