“Even living out of town, Macon Community Hospital is my first choice in a crisis.”
— Anne Hensley

Her first trip to the ER occurred In February. “I was having abdominal pain under my ribs,” Anne remembers. “The pain and nausea got so bad, I was doubled over.” An ultrasound and CT Scan revealed that Anne was suffering from acute pancreatitis. She stayed overnight for treatment.
Anne’s second ER visit to Macon Community Hospital came two months later. “I was feeling pressure in my chest as well as shortness of breath and pain in my left shoulder and jaw,” she says. When Anne arrived at Macon Community Hospital, she was once again amazed by the care she received.
“I’ve been working in the medical profession for over 40 years, and the way they triage a patient at Macon Community Hospital is so remarkable,” says Anne, who works as a nurse practitioner at an infusion clinic in Mt. Juliet. “The entire staff was right on top of everything and always quick to respond.” Dr. Jung Lee, a cardiologist with Macon Community Hospital, realized Anne needed a stent procedure (angioplasty). As it turned out, Anne’s left descending coronary artery, also known as the widowmaker, was 75 percent blocked.
“It’s always worth the drive to Macon Community Hospital,” says Anne. “I’d recommend this hospital to anyone!”
