“No one has to leave Macon County for great physical therapy!”
— Linda McDonald

For Linda McDonald, having her outpatient physical therapy at Macon Community Hospital after her second knee replacement was an easy decision.
“When I had my first knee replaced about three years ago, the physical therapy staff at Macon Community Hospital was great,” Linda says. “This time, my left knee was bone on bone. I couldn’t even lift my left leg up into my car. My knee just couldn’t do it. I was close to living in a wheelchair.”
Alan Hire and Cameron Eden were the two main physical therapists who worked with Linda at Macon Community Hospital after her surgery. “They are just incredible — knowledgeable, professional and encouraging,” Linda says. “I just felt so comfortable with them. If something was hurting during an exercise, they explained how it was all part of the healing process. And because they were with me every step of the way, there were never any surprises.”
During her six weeks of therapy, two days a week, Linda rode a stationary bicycle and performed leg lifts, squats, and hamstring stretches to strengthen her legs. “After about two weeks, my knee started feeling so much better,” says Linda, who works as the General Manager at WLCT-FM, 102.1 in Lafayette. “Now I’m walking pain free! I highly recommend Macon Community Hospital. It’s got a friendly, hometown feeling you won’t find anyplace else.”
